Steve Tracey

Stephen "Spud" Tracey was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in June 2008. He was diagnosed without showing any symptoms. His doctor saw something in the blood work at his yearly physical that he did not like.

Steve lost his battle in July 2012. Steve's treatment included participation in a clinical trial at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, a stem cell transplant, and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, Steve's quality of life was not great after the time of his diagnosis. Yet, he never gave up hope, fought hard, and never once complained. He was truly an inspiration the way he lived the last four years of his life.

Steve was the long time president of Tracey Gear & Precision Shaft. He was also very active in his community donating time to a number of groups including: Seekonk Knights of Columbus, Rehoboth Little League, Dighton-Rehoboth Track & Basketball Boosters, Cub Scouts, Mt. Carmel CCD Teacher, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Eucharistic Minister.

Steve was a board member for the Pawtucket Redevelopment Committee, Pawtucket Foundation and the Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence.

Steve was generous person who took great pride in helping people succeed.

Steve leaves behind his wife, Nancy; sons: Doug, Jeff, & Greg; daughter-in-laws: Sherri & Anne Marie; grandchildren: Will, Jilli, Sasha, & Finn; as well as countless family and friends who miss him very much.
